While working on the update for CashmanAuctions.com i was asked to only show one post as the homepage.Being a very simple website, they use Wordpress as a CMS.
 
At first i did this by going to Options -> Reading -> number of posts to display : 1
 
But this only showed one post even on other non-home pages, such as tags and categories.then i found Static Front Page Plugin For WordPress
